Associate Vice President for Engagement, Student Affairs Kennesaw State University, a public institution in the University System of Georgia, is seeking an Associate Vice President for Engagement, Student Affairs. This role will lead strategic planning and oversight for student engagement, support, leadership, and activities across KSU’s campuses.

Kennesaw, GA and Marietta, GA

Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and oversight for a comprehensive student engagement portfolio, ensuring programs, initiatives, and events are intentionally designed, inclusive, and aligned with student needs.

Encourage innovation in student programming that reflects the energy, leadership, and positive impact of KSU’s student body.

Ensure effective planning, execution, and assessment of programs and services with a focus on advancing student success.

Partner with university stakeholders to integrate co‑curricular programming into the broader student success framework.

Foster campus traditions that enrich the student experience, promote school spirit, and build community.

Lead strategic initiatives to create revenue and external funding opportunities to enhance support for programs and initiatives.

Leverage support of parents and families to enhance student engagement and success.

Provide overall vision, leadership, and direction to develop and sustain a student‑centered team and program within the Division and the University.

Lead and supervise professional staff responsible for initiatives and resources across multiple departments.

Oversee coordination and collaboration among the Division of Student Affairs, Auxiliary Services, Academic Deans, and other campus offices.

Guide planning, human resources, policy development, operations, facility and budgetary aspects for all reporting units.

Continuously evaluate assigned areas to drive ongoing improvements and implement necessary changes.

Engage in benchmarking of best practices and ensure evidence‑based services and programs.

Develop short‑ and long‑term goals for supervised areas to achieve Divisional objectives.

Define measurable outcomes for programs and services, assess results, and prepare reports.

Ensure compliance with local, state and federal agencies related to the programs and services within the offices.

Lead strategic initiatives that advance division priorities as outlined by the Vice President.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education Leadership, Behavioral Sciences, or a related field from an accredited institution.

At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in higher education student affairs, including rising levels of responsibility.

Demonstrated success managing complex student‑focused programs and initiatives.

Experience leading cross‑functional teams and managing large‑scale programs and events.

Knowledge of best practices in student engagement, co‑curricular programming, and student success.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Ability to budget, plan, and assess program outcomes and report to leadership.

Prior experience in senior student affairs leadership preferred.

Terminal degree (PhD, EdD, or JD) preferred.

Compensation & Benefits Salary Range:

$120,000 – $130,000 per year, based on experience.
