The Office of Finance and Information Technology (OFIT) at the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) seeks a Director of Fiscal Transparency. The Director will lead initiatives that enhance fiscal transparency for internal stakeholders, external partners, and the public. Responsibilities
Oversee development and implementation of transparency initiatives. Provide the legislature, school districts, and the public with comprehensive access to financial data and insights from Oregon school districts and ESD. Lead a team responsible for data collection related to Average Daily Membership Weighted (ADMw). Interface with Superintendents and budget managers in school districts and ESDs. Review audited financials from School District Education Service Districts. Collaborate with interagency offices on dashboarding and coordination with the Governor’s and Directors’ Offices. Drive the organization’s commitment to transparency and accountability. Minimum Qualifications
Seven years of supervision, management, or progressively related experience; OR four years of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Desired Attributes
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred. Master’s degree in Accountancy or a related field preferred. Knowledge of governmental fund accounting and application of GAAP and GASB standards. Expertise in financial systems, data reconciliation, and financial reporting. Proficiency in Power BI or comparable data analytics and visualization tools. Benefits
