Responsibilities

Review and understand complex data center construction projects that are being constructed by colocation lease providers. Have the ability to analyze the projects for risk profiles and work with colocation providers to mitigate.

Strategic Planning: Develop and implement long-term standards and strategies for data center colocation construction projects delivery certainty to align with organizational goals.

This team’s role will focus on the base building and MEP infrastructure portions of the project. They will be required to coordinate with the DCIB teams that are executing the tenant fit out data hall white space projects separately.

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of project managers, engineers, and construction professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

Project Oversight: Lead and manage the construction oversight efforts of data centers by colocation providers, ensuring all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Schedule Management: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, coordinating with colocation providers to ensure timely delivery of milestones.

Risk Evaluation: analyze projects independently to evaluate the risk profiles associated with timely delivery, address gaps in risk identification and mitigation and inform the business of associated potential impacts.

Tenant Fit Out Integration: Work closely throughout design, construction, and commissioning to fully coordinate and integrate the separate scope of tenant fit out projects with the DCIB teams leading these efforts.

Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure all construction activities meet design specifications and industry standards.

Design Coordination: Collaborate with design teams to ensure that construction activities align with the approved design plans and specifications.

Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and colocation providers, facilitating clear and effective communication.

Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.

Compliance: Ensure all construction activities comply with relevant regulations, codes, and standards.

Provide ongoing colocation Provider evaluation input for continuous improvement.

Regular project visits to ensure schedule, coordination, and quality will be required throughout the life of the project on a regular basis.

Innovation and Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, incorporating innovative solutions to enhance data center performance and sustainability.

Attend meetings held in various time zones to support live engagement and support of international projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Minimum of 12 years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on data center or colocation infrastructure either for a general contractor, colocation provider, or hyperscaler.

Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects.

Strong understanding of construction processes, quality control, and design coordination.

Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.

Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Benefits and Compensation US: Hiring Range in USD from: $161,700 - $338,500 per year. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non‑overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
