Overview The Data Center Infrastructure Construction team at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is dedicated to delivering state‑of‑the‑art data center facilities at scale and pace. The team comprises experienced project managers, commissioning experts, and construction specialists who collaborate to ensure successful execution of complex data center construction projects, meeting the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and sustainability.
Responsibilities
Lead strategic vision for data center projects, aligning with long‑term organizational goals.
Mentor a dynamic team of project managers, engineers, and construction professionals.
Oversee execution of complex construction projects, driving efficiency, cost‑effectiveness, and operational excellence.
Engage key stakeholders, manage high‑stakes vendor relationships, and navigate regulatory compliance.
Anticipate and mitigate risks to maintain project timelines and budgets.
Travel required (50% or more); remote work possible.
Develop and implement comprehensive plans that optimize efficiency, cost‑effectiveness, and operational excellence.
Coordinate with colocation providers to ensure timely delivery of milestones.
Work closely through design, construction, and commissioning to fully coordinate and integrate tenant fit‑out projects with the DCIB teams.
Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure all construction activities meet design specifications and industry standards.
Collaborate with design teams to ensure construction activities align with approved design plans and specifications.
Serve as primary point of contact between the company and colocation providers, facilitating clear and effective communication.
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Ensure all construction activities comply with relevant regulations, codes, and standards.
Provide ongoing colocation provider evaluation input for continuous improvement.
Regular project visits to ensure schedule, coordination, and quality throughout the project life.
Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, incorporating innovative solutions to enhance data center performance and sustainability.
Attend meetings held in various time zones to support live engagement of international projects.
Required Skills
Heavy knowledge of base building data center construction—civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, controls, and plumbing.
Problem‑Solving: Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities to address complex challenges in a fast‑paced environment.
Strategic Planning: Strong skills in developing and implementing long‑term strategies and establishing program‑level requirements.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of data center design, construction, and operational requirements.
Project Management: Expertise in managing large‑scale data center construction projects from inception to completion.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead and inspire a diverse team of professionals.
Budget Management: Proficiency in creating and managing project budgets.
Risk Management: Ability to identify potential risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
Vendor Management: Experience in selecting, negotiating, and managing contracts with vendors and contractors.
Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 12 years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on data center or colocation infrastructure either for a general contractor, colocation provider, or hyperscaler.
Proven track record of successfully managing large‑scale construction projects.
Strong understanding of construction processes, quality control, and design coordination.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Salary US: Hiring Range in USD from: $161,700 - $338,500 per year. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
