We are Looking for: We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Architect – EHR Integrations to lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and interoperable healthcare data systems. This role will be critical to integrating our coding automation platform, Coder+, with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems using industry-standard protocols such as FHIR, HL7, and X12 transactions (837/835) As the technical lead, you will own the architecture for data ingestion, transformation, and integration pipelines that map structured health data—such as CPT, ICD, and claim data—into the Coder+ workflow engine. You’ll also ensure our infrastructure and data practices meet the highest standards for security, performance, and HIPAA compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and oversee end-to-end data architecture for EHR integrations using APIs, FHIR, HL7, and other healthcare interoperability standards.

Map clinical and financial data (CPT, ICD, X12 837/835) from EHRs into the Coder+ platform’s workflow engine.

Build and maintain integration pipelines that support real-time and batch data exchange between EHR systems and Coder+.

Ensure HIPAA compliance and data security, implementing best practices for encryption, access control, and audit logging.

Manage cloud infrastructure (AWS or Azure), including deployment architecture, scalability, and monitoring.

Collaborate with product, engineering, and compliance teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Evaluate and recommend tools, frameworks, and technologies to improve data interoperability, scalability, and reliability.

Mentor engineering teams on integration best practices and architectural decisions.

Requirements

7+ years of software development experience in the healthcare industry, with a strong focus on data integrations and architecture.

Deep knowledge of FHIR, HL7 v2/v3, X12 837/835, and related healthcare messaging standards.

Proven experience integrating with major EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, athenahealth, eClinicalWorks).

Strong proficiency with RESTful APIs, secure data transmission, and data mapping/transformation workflows.

Hands-on experience managing infrastructure on AWS or Azure, including use of cloud-native services for health data.

In-depth understanding of HIPAA, data privacy, and healthcare security standards.

Strong communication skills and ability to lead technical discussions with cross-functional stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.

Familiarity with healthcare data normalization tools or APIs (e.g., Redox, Health Gorilla, or similar).

Background in building or integrating with coding automation, revenue cycle, or claims platforms.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
