At Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC) we are seeking a SMT Team / Accommodation Tech Team Lead Manager 3 to lead supplier management efforts and drive technical excellence in the System Management Technology (SMT) domain.
Responsibilities Member of a dedicated Supplier Management Team. Provides leadership for the SMT; sets objectives for other members of this SMT, including GSC, Business Management, and Quality/MA to oversee the cost, schedule, technical, and quality performance of the supplier (subcontractor or GFX supplier). Manages risk and opportunity related to supplied parts and their integration into the segment or system. Develops statements of work and specifications, evaluates supplier capabilities with respect to segment and system requirements, performs regular technical reviews, and participates in negotiations when required. This dual‑role manager/SMT Team/Accommodation Tech Team Lead manages engineering staff, develops engineering processes, and provides resources to meet program needs, with an approximate split of 80% technical and 20% functional responsibilities.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 12 years of experience; or Master’s degree and 10 years of experience; or Ph.D. and 8 years of experience.
Proven ability to lead and motivate engineering teams, providing guidance and support to achieve project goals.
Demonstrated experience with Systems Development Lifecycle and defining systems behavior.
Experience leading multi‑disciplinary engineering (software, hardware, electrical) and working in cross‑functional teams.
Knowledge of systems engineering, including participation in the development of an Integrated Master Plan (IMP) and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
Understanding of DoD systems engineering requirements and familiarity with EVMS.
Risk and opportunity management experience.
U.S. citizen required; current active DoD Secret clearance with TS/SCI and polygraph required prior to start.
Preferred Qualifications
Current active DoD TS/SCI with polygraph clearance.
Degree or professional experience in hardware or digital engineering, electromechanical, or electrical engineering.
Experience using engineering management tools such as DOORS or Cameo.
Experience with model‑based systems engineering (SysML/MBSE).
Previous experience working in a supplier management team.
Experience drafting statements of work and managing schedules.
Familiarity with project and task management tools: Jira, Confluence.
Salary Range Primary level salary range: $187,000.00 – $280,600.00.
Security Clearance Position requires a U.S. citizen with a current active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI w. polygraph prior to start.
