SEIT Lead Systems Engineer Manager 3 .
What You’ll Get to Do This is an IPT-Level role , Leader of SEIT Team. Will be the IPT Lead’s partner in technical planning and in areas including workforce planning and staffing. Similarly, will spearhead and direct—in partnership with other technical leads—the technical and engineering planning and execution of IPT activities by all SEIT staff.
The SEIT Lead Systems Engineer will support writing technical specifications, Statements of Work (SOWs), design reviews (e.g. SRR, SFR, SDR, PDR, CDR, SVR, TRR) and will serve as the cost account manager for the systems engineering (and potentially multiple other organizations) responsibilities, and will report TPMs.
This is a dual-role manager/SEIT Lead Systems Engineer. Management duties include supporting, developing, and tasking engineering staff; developing engineering process; and providing resources to meet program needs. The manager will also perform technical work on programs. The split between technical and functional management duties will be approximately 80% technical /20% functional, on average.
This position will serve on-site in the greater Baltimore, MD area OR Redondo Beach, CA .
This position is contingent upon acquiring and maintaining the necessary US Government security clearance per customers’ requirements.
Basic Qualifications for SEIT Lead Systems Engineer Manager 3
Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 12 years of experience with Bachelor’s degree, 10 years with Master’s, 8 years with PhD
Proven ability to lead and motivate engineering teams, providing guidance and support to achieve project goals
Demonstrated experience defining and managing requirements of large-scale systems, including decomposition and allocation to various system segments
Familiarity with EVMS with experience managing budget and schedule as a Cost Account Manager (CAM)
Risk and Opportunity Management experience
Experience in systems development, integration, and test
Demonstrated Multi-Disciplinary Engineering exposure (Software, Hardware, Electrical) and strong ability to communicate cross-functionally
This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen
Current active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI w. Polygraph prior to start
Preferred Qualifications for SEIT Lead Systems Engineer Manager 3
Current active DoD TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
Master’s Degree or higher in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics), preferably an Engineering degree
Proven performance as an Engineering Leader in all phases of acquisition, design, integration, and execution. Ability to rapidly assess and guide projects and provide mentoring to engineers
Working knowledge across engineering disciplines
Experience across the systems engineering lifecycle
Experience developing system requirements, verification plans, and reports
Experience with MBSE and Requirements management tools, such as Cameo and DOORS
Familiarity with Project & Task Management tools: Jira or Confluence
Familiarity with some subset of specialty engineering tools, such as MATLAB or COMSOL (MODSIM); Docker, Kubernetes, Visual Studio, Python; Elasticsearch, Grafana, Tableau; or Cadence Virtuoso, Keysight ADWS, ANSYS HFSS
Primary Level Salary Range: $187,000.00 - $280,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
