The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for leading the sourcing, evaluation, and management of private credit and alternative limited partnership investments, including private equity, infrastructure, corporate and real estate mezzanine, and venture capital. This role will focus on constructing and overseeing diversified portfolios, conducting due diligence, and delivering long-term risk-adjusted returns aligned with organizational objectives. Insurance industry experience is required.

Key Responsibilities Develop and execute investment strategies across private credit and alternative investments. Source, evaluate, and recommend investment managers and funds across various alternative asset classes. Conduct rigorous due diligence on investment opportunities and prepare recommendations for approval. Monitor portfolio performance, risks, and reporting for existing LP commitments. Engage with general partners (GPs) through meetings, advisory boards, and relationship management. Provide market insights, benchmarking, and thought leadership on portfolio construction and capital allocation. Communicate investment performance and risks to executive leadership. Mentor junior staff and foster team development. Must be a team player that collaborates effectively within the investment team and other areas of the company, including Investment Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis and Controller’s area Experience working for a public company preferred, with knowledge of GAAP/STAT accounting. Ability to provide timely and thoughtful responses to external/internal auditors and regulators.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field; MBA/CFA/CAIA preferred. 10+ years of institutional investment experience, with emphasis on private credit and alternatives. Expertise in manager due diligence, portfolio construction, and LP investment monitoring. Strong understanding of private markets that have little to no liquidity. Solid understanding of valuing private investments, and experience interacting with third-party valuation firms. Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills. Experience with various types of alternative investment reporting technologies. Strategic thinker with a long-term investment perspective. Strong relationship management skills with GPs, advisors, and internal stakeholders. High integrity, professional judgment, and collaborative approach. Results-oriented with attention to detail and disciplined execution.

Salary is commensurate to experience, location, etc.
