Job Summary The selected candidate will contribute to program efforts across both Missile Defense and Space domains. As part of an integrated architecture and systems engineering team, the candidate will help define the operational, physical, functional, and technical architectures that enable the program’s evolving vision and capabilities. The role involves architecting missile defense command and control systems that integrate existing and COTS/GOTS components while ensuring DoD interoperability. The candidate will analyze high‑level requirements, develop system architecture solutions for emerging capabilities, and collaborate closely with lead systems, software, network, and cyber architects.

This position requires strong communication and coordination across multiple teams, including software development, network engineering, cybersecurity, DevSecOps, infrastructure, testing, and deployment. The candidate will present architecture concepts to diverse audiences, engage with project leads, product owners, and MDA customers, and serve as a focal point for system architecture throughout development, testing, and deployment. Experience with Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as CAMEO is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Architect missile defense command and control systems that integrate DoD and COTS/GOTS components.

Analyze high‑level requirements and develop system‑architecture solutions for emerging capabilities.

Collaborate with software, network, cybersecurity, DevSecOps, infrastructure, testing, and deployment teams.

Present architecture concepts to senior stakeholders and end users.

Maintain current knowledge of technologies and design methodologies in DoD command and control and commercial IT solutions.

Qualifications

Systems Engineering/Architecture experience with test experience on a DoD program.

Desire to serve as a Systems Architect on a complex Command and Control DoD program.

Excellent communication skills and ability to present technical concepts to a diverse group of engineers.

Minimum of two of the following skillsets: C2BMC or similar complex DoD Command and Control (C2) system experience (2+ years).

Experience creating new system architecture concepts and solutions.

Information Technology / Computer Science / Software / Network related work experience on an integrated team working with other systems, software and specialty engineers for a DoD program.

Experience as a Technical Lead Systems Engineering SME or Systems Engineering technical leader in the Missile Defense, Space, or Link 16 domain.

Additional skillsets: Experience architecting systems with existing or COTS/GOTS components with DoD interoperability.

Experience developing system engineering and architecture artifacts (e.g., specifications, interface control documents, use cases, architecture descriptions, trade studies).

Experience creating briefings and presenting at DoD customer design reviews.

Experience as a technical leader for a DoD systems engineering or development effort.

Familiarity with Private Cloud solutions, VMWare, Nutanix, RedHat, network solutions.

Familiarity with DoD Cyber requirements, RMF, and associated solutions.

Familiarity with software development and Java based software.

Familiarity with DevSecOps and Digital Engineering Transformation (DET) methodologies and solutions.

Familiarity with Agile development, model‑based systems engineering, and Cameo tool.

Familiarity with requirements management tools, e.g., DOORS.

Education Bachelor’s degree with 9 years of experience or Master’s degree with 7 years of experience.

Clearance Requirement Active Secret Clearance required.

Salary Range $120,000 – $145,000 USD. Actual salary will be based on location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure, and business needs. The range may differ for other geographic locations and may include variable incentive compensation.
