The Learning and Development (L&D) Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating training and development programs that enhance employee skills, performance, and engagement. This role partners with leadership and subject matter experts to identify learning needs, develop instructional content, and support continuous professional growth across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Assess organizational training needs through surveys, interviews, and collaboration with department leaders.
Design, develop, and deliver engaging training programs (in-person, virtual, and e-learning formats).
Create learning materials such as manuals, job aids, videos, and presentations.
Coordinate and facilitate onboarding programs for new hires.
Maintain the company’s Learning Management System (LMS) and track participation, completion, and effectiveness.
Evaluate training outcomes using metrics, feedback, and performance data to improve future sessions.
Support leadership development, soft skills, and compliance training initiatives.
Research and implement new learning technologies and delivery methods.
Collaborate with HR to align learning initiatives with organizational goals and employee development plans.
Manage vendor relationships for external training programs and certifications.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, or related field (Master’s preferred).
3+ years of experience in learning and development, instructional design, or talent management.
Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and training methodologies.
Proficiency in e-learning platforms, LMS administration, and authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate).
Excellent communication, facilitation, and project management skills.
Ability to analyze data and measure the impact of learning programs.
