Job Description
Pay Range: $40hr - $43hr
The R&D Scientist will support large technology and product development programs by designing and executing experiments, documenting findings, and contributing to the development, verification, and evidence generation efforts.
This role works cross-functionally with teams across R&D, Engineering, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Manufacturing, Quality, and Regulatory Affairs to ensure program success.
Responsibilities
Represent the R&D function as an extended team member supporting technology and product development programs.
Design and execute experiments to advance development, verification, and evidence generation efforts across assigned projects.
Document technical knowledge within assigned business areas and, with guidance, explore and recommend solution concepts when applicable.
Drive aspects of product development workstreams, including Requirements Management, Design Verification, and Design Transfer to Manufacturing.
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure successful program execution, engaging with R&D, Engineering, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Manufacturing, Quality, and Regulatory teams.
Contribute to intellectual property growth by submitting patent applications and Invention Disclosure Records.
Work under guidance from managers and senior personnel to develop approaches and solutions to technical challenges.
Adhere to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), lab operational procedures, and maintain laboratory settings and equipment.
Mentor and train junior team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Travel as required to conferences, manufacturing sites, or customer visits.
Knowledge and Skills
Understanding of polymer formulation, processing, and structure-property relationships.
Experience handling clinical specimens, particularly human blood; bloodborne pathogen safety training will be provided.
Proficiency with MS Office; experience with statistical analysis tools is desirable.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal abilities.
Comfortable working in complex team matrices.
High learning agility and self-motivation with a strong sense of urgency.
Willingness to perform hands-on work.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, or related engineering disciplines.
Minimum of 2 years of direct laboratory experience.
