The community you’ll be caring for: Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,368-bed AdventHealth Orlando. Serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America. AdventHealth Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country. We are already one of the busiest hospitals in the nation, providing service excellence to more than 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients each year
Job Summary The Program Manager - Government Relations is responsible for planning, supporting, and implementing Government Relations efforts for AdventHealth, the Central Florida Division of AdventHealth and AdventHealth Corporate offices. Responsible for developing positive relationships with external and internal stakeholders and understanding key public policy issues in collaboration with all levels of the Hospital system. Adheres to AdventHealth policies and procedures. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
You Will Be Responsible For
Maintains high visibility at government, business, and community events, serving on community/government boards and assuming leadership roles as appropriate.
Develops hospital campus engagement strategies with local chambers and business associations, identifying opportunities to enhance corporate reputation with key stakeholders.
Other duties as assigned.
Acts as a liaison between the organization, local elected officials, and state policymakers.
Builds relationships with local jurisdictions to create a favorable outlook for the organization and monitors commission and legislative delegation meetings and activities.
Communicates progress and new issues affecting state and local advocacy agendas to leadership through written reports and presentations.
Defines and articulates local and state policy issues in collaboration with campus CEOs and partners with internal teams to build proactive strategies around relationship and reputation enhancement.
Develops and implements unique local advocacy plans including visits by elected officials.
Participates in planning, preparing, implementing, and tracking annual state advocacy plans.
Identifies potential advocacy opportunities to enhance strategic imperatives by working closely with internal leaders and various lines of business.
Qualifications What You Will Need
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Policy, Political Science or related field
5-years of experience in, Government, Policy Development, Community, or Public Relations
Strong communication, organizational and writing skills
Strong interpersonal stills and ability to build relationships with government leaders, staff and community influencers
Well organized and detail oriented, able to work independently and prioritize
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Well connected with existing government and public sector leaders and understands local, state and federal government entities and processes
Strong problem-solving skills
Preferred
Master’s Degree in related field
Prior experience in healthcare policy and government relations
