About the Position

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Secretary for a temp-to-hire opportunity. The ideal candidate will provide essential administrative and clerical support to attorneys, manage case files, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations in a fast-paced legal environment.

Base Pay Range

$37,500.00/yr - $41,000.00/yr

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, edit, and format legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence.
  • File legal documents with State and Federal courts, including e‑filing.
  • Maintain attorney calendars; schedule hearings, depositions, and meetings.
  • Manage case files, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and timely updates.
  • Screen calls and visitors, provide professional client communication, and relay messages promptly.
  • Coordinate trial preparation, including exhibits and case binders.
  • Handle incoming/outgoing mail, scanning, and document distribution.
  • Perform administrative tasks including billing, time entry, and expense reporting.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience as a legal secretary or legal assistant (litigation preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of State and Federal court rules and e‑filing procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal practice management software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
