Role Overview The Director of Supply Chain & Manufacturing will be responsible for the end-to-end operations supporting our reagents, consumables, and instrumentation product lines. This leader will oversee planning, sourcing, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and distribution, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective, and reliable delivery of products to customers. The ideal candidate focuses on operational excellence and thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
The Director of Supply Chain & Manufacturing will be a key member of the leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO. They will oversee the Supply, Logistics, Contract Manufacturing, Customer Service, and eventually build out a reagent manufacturing team. This role will be responsible for working cross-functionally with Sales, R&D, Finance, and Product. This role will also be responsible for leading S&OP and will need to manage multiple priorities and communicate with all levels of the organization.
What You’ll Do
Develop and execute the global supply chain and manufacturing strategy aligned with company growth objectives
Build scalable processes and infrastructure to support expanding product lines
Oversee demand planning, procurement, supplier management, logistics and shipping, and inventory optimization
Partner with commercial on implementing and customer support function
Negotiate supplier contracts, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and risk mitigation.
Implement and monitor KPIs
Lead in-house manufacturing and kitting of products and manage outsourced/contract manufacturing for instrumentation and consumables
Drive continuous improvement in quality, cost, and delivery
Partner with R&D and Product Management to ensure seamless scale-up of new products into production
Develop global logistics and shipping, including warehousing, order fulfillment, and import/export compliance
Ensure reliable and timely delivery to customers worldwide
Fine tune and implement tools for the right stage and size of the business
What We’re Looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
10+ years of experience in supply chain and manufacturing leadership roles within life sciences tools, diagnostics, or related industries.
Experience overseeing reagents/consumables production and instrumentation manufacturing (in-house and outsourced).
Proven track record in supplier management, contract negotiation, and cost reduction.
Strong knowledge of regulatory and quality requirements (ISO, GMP, FDA, etc.).
Demonstrated ability to scale operations in a high-growth company.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Experience driving manufacturing and supply chain with and without ERP tools
Experience with NetSuite and SFDC strongly preferred
