Job Summary HIP Housing is seeking a Fundraising Events Manager to lead our signature events that support affordable housing and community connection across San Mateo County. As a key member of our Fund Development Team, you’ll plan, coordinate, and manage a variety of fundraising and donor engagement events—including our annual fundraising event, donor appreciation gatherings, the Annual Calendar Party, and the Board Garden Party. You’ll work closely with our Director of Fund Development, internal teams, sponsors, and community partners to create experiences that inspire generosity and strengthen relationships.

Beyond event planning, you’ll play a vital role in donor stewardship, Board engagement, and the development of marketing and communications materials that tell our story. You’ll also help maintain our fundraising database to ensure our operations are efficient and effective.

Responsibilities Event Planning

Project manage all events assigned to the Fund Development team, including overall strategy, planning, logistics, and execution.

Work with Marketing and Communications Associate to effectively promote events through print and digital media channels, including PR, invitations, sponsorships, advertising, signage, flyers, day‑of‑event collateral, and follow‑up materials and communications.

Coordinate and manage an Events Committee consisting of board and community members to create additional event capacity.

Assist the Executive Director and the Director of Fund Development in the cultivation of new and existing event sponsors.

Manage the participant and event volunteer experience for fundraising events.

Develop creative, unique events to support and encourage Board participation and engagement.

Assist with activities related to the HIP Housing Board of Directors meetings, retreats, and orientations.

Join the internal Fun Committee and assist with in‑house staff parties like Pizza and Pong and the Annual Company Picnic.

Assist the Director of Fund Development in the creation of a corporate “culture of giving,” by collaborating on fundraising ideas and strategies.

Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with donors, ensuring effective communication and timely acknowledgment of contributions.

Assist in the development and execution of donor engagement strategies to enhance donor loyalty and retention.

Database Management

Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date donor records in Razor’s Edge, the organization’s CRM system.

Generate Raiser’s Edge database reports and analyze donor and event data to inform fundraising strategies and decision‑making.

Assist in the generation of content and management of the production of the annual HIP Housing impact report and newsletters.

Collaborate with the Director of Fund Development and with the Programs, Properties, and Finance departments to collect data for the impact report.

Education / Experience

5+ years of experience in fundraising with an emphasis on event and donor stewardship with either a bachelor’s degree in business management, public relations, marketing, or equivalent work experience.

2+ years of experience in event management.

Experience with Razor's Edge.

Experience developing relations with community and corporate sponsors.

Required Skills / Abilities

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Clear, friendly, and professional public speaking manner.

Ability to work independently while remaining engaged in a strong, mutually respectful team.

Comfortable approaching and communicating with businesses, community partners, board members, and high‑net‑worth individuals.

Passion for the organization’s mission and values.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Access), social media networks, WordPress, and Google AdWords. Knowledge of Photoshop is a plus.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer screen

Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times

Compensation and Benefits

Full‑time, exempt, at‑will, annually reviewed position

Annual salary is $75,000‑$90,000, based on experience

Employer‑sponsored health insurance [medical, dental, vision]

PTO/Paid Holidays/ Floating Holidays

This position features the option for alternating Fridays off

Work Environment & Schedule This is a hybrid role with 3‑4 days in the office per week and flexibility for remote work. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for projects and events. This role is eligible to participate in our every other Friday off alternative workweek schedule.
