Since 1984, Larkin Street Youth Services has helped more than 75,000 young adults in San Francisco with outreach, shelter, housing, education, employment, healthcare, and other services. Today, Larkin Street is the largest provider of housing and services to homeless youth in the Bay Area, serving 1,500 youth annually with more than 500 beds across several sites. What you’ll do at a glance: support the Development team with fundraising events, third-party/community engagement activities, and in-kind donor coordination; help execute signature events such as the Paving the Way Gala and Bay Area CFO of the Year Awards; and contribute to donor stewardship and administrative tasks. Responsibilities
Event & Third-Party Support (40%): provide logistical and administrative support for signature events (RSVPs, guest lists, seating, collateral, volunteer coordination); support third-party and community partner events; liaise with external partners for brand alignment and visibility; coordinate donor cultivation and board of director events; collaborate with Programs on youth-facing holiday events; contribute to sponsorship solicitations and in-kind grant writing; staff events as needed (evenings and weekends). In-Kind Donations & Corporate Engagement (30%): manage in-kind donation tracking, acknowledgments, and benefit fulfillment; cultivate in-kind partners; coordinate logistics for kit builds and activations; maintain records in Salesforce and prepare reports; coordinate corporate volunteer opportunities in partnership with Programs; collaborate with Programs to identify needs and distribute goods. Development Administration (20%): provide departmental support (scheduling, agendas, notes, retreats, internal engagement); assist with processing payments, contracts, and invoices; maintain trackers for Salesforce, Classy, Outlook; contribute to reporting, meetings, and post-event debriefs; provide support to the Chief Development Officer as needed. Tracking / Other (10%): represent the agency with sponsors, vendors, board members, and event committees; steward sponsors and in-kind donors; support opportunities for deeper donor engagement; train and supervise event-day volunteers and interns; participate in external meetings and networking as assigned; perform other duties as required. This full-time hybrid position requires onsite work at 711 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco for three days per week, with possible local travel to partner organizations, businesses, and donors. Some evenings or weekends may be required depending on events schedules. Who You Are
Passionate about ending youth homelessness and aligned with Larkin Street’s mission. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Valid driver’s license. 1–3 years of experience in events, development, or community engagement. Flexible schedule with availability for evenings and weekends for events. Experience with Classy, Salesforce, or similar platforms preferred. Strong attention to detail, initiative, and ability to meet fundraising goals. Relationship-building and strong interpersonal skills, including listening and persuasiveness.
