Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) and requires a full and unrestricted dental license in the United States. Applicants must meet specific individual eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit the EDRP application within four months of start date. Duties

Diagnose oral and maxillofacial conditions Administer local and moderate sedation Perform simple and complex dental extractions Place dental implants and perform bone grafting techniques Treat tumors of the maxillofacial region and perform TMJ surgery Plan and execute implant surgical guide planning and other pre‑prosthetic surgery Perform alveoloplasty and other surgical procedures Perform hard and soft tissue biopsy and treat orofacial infections Repair oral soft tissue lacerations and extract impacted teeth Develop and supervise oral surgery rotations for VA dental residents Qualifications

Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or dental medicine degree from a CODA‑approved school Current, full and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a U.S. State or District of Columbia Completed residency in general practice or specialty, or comparable experience treating medically compromised patients American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS) board certification preferred Pay and Benefits
