Overview
Dentist – Oral Surgery
– U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs – 2‑year continuous announcement, open to U.S. citizens and qualified non‑citizens. Position expires 12/31/2025.
Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive surgical care, including extractions and oral cancer screening.
Provide oral and facial reconstruction surgery to repair damage from traumatic injury or serious illness.
Conduct admission history and physical examination, skeletal and soft tissue surgery, and related duties as assigned.
Prevent, diagnose, and treat diseases, injuries, and malformation of teeth, jaws, and oral cavity and adjacent tissues.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements
U.S. citizen.
Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Dental Medicine from an approved school (CODA or licensure body of a State, Territory, Commonwealth, or District of Columbia).
Completed or currently completing a residency in general practice or specialty, or comparable experience treating medically compromised patients.
Current, full, unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, Territory, Commonwealth, or District of Columbia.
Proficient in basic written and spoken English.
Conditions of Employment

Background/security investigation, pre‑employment physical, influenza vaccination program, and urinalysis required.
Probationary period may be required.
Selected applicants must complete an online onboarding process.
Physical Requirements
Moderate lifting up to 44 lbs., carrying up to 15 lbs., frequent reaching above shoulder, use of fingers, hands, and legs, walking and standing up to 8 hours, bending, climbing and hearing whisper.
