Your Next Nursing Mission. Telemetry RN - Providence, RI Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) is a highly skilled and compassionate nursing professional responsible for delivering specialized care to adult patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring and treatment for acute and chronic conditions. This role demands strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to respond swiftly in a high‑acuity, fast‑paced environment. The Tele RN collaborates closely with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and support staff to ensure safe, effective, and patient‑centered care.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients with cardiac and telemetry needs

Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including cardiac rhythm interpretation, vital signs, and physical exams

Monitor telemetry equipment and promptly respond to arrhythmias or changes in cardiac status

Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed

Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and adjust individualized care plans

Prepare patients for diagnostic tests and procedures, including stress tests and echocardiograms

Provide education to patients and families on cardiac conditions, medications, lifestyle changes, and discharge instructions

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)

Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality standards

Respond promptly to emergencies such as code blue, rapid response, or sudden deterioration

Advocate for patients and uphold their rights and confidentiality

Minimum Requirements

Current Registered Nurse License in the state of practice

Minimum one year of professional nursing experience; Telemetry or Step‑Down experience preferred

Completion of Amergis' Competency Program (if applicable)

Current BLS certification (ACLS required)

TB screening and health clearance (as required by contract or regulation)

Compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations

Successful completion of new hire orientation and telemetry training

Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations

Strong communication skills and proficiency in English

Basic computer literacy

Must be at least 18 years of age
