Overview
Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) — an RN responsible for monitoring and caring for patients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions. This role requires strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to respond quickly to changes in patient status. The Telemetry RN works with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients requiring cardiac monitoring
Perform detailed patient assessments, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and health histories
Monitor telemetry equipment and interpret cardiac rhythms, identifying and responding to abnormalities
Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies as prescribed
Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and adjust individualized care plans
Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, medications, and discharge instructions
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality standards
Respond promptly to emergencies such as arrhythmias, rapid deterioration, or code situations
Support patient advocacy and uphold patient rights and confidentiality
Minimum Requirements
Current Registered Nurse License in the state of practice
Minimum one year of professional nursing experience; Telemetry experience preferred
Completion of Amergis' Competency Program (if applicable)
Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
TB screening and health clearance (as required by contract or regulation)
Compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
Successful completion of new hire orientation and telemetry training
Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations
Strong communication skills and proficiency in English
Basic computer literacy
Must be at least 18 years of age
