Job Description SAIC is currently hiring for a Junior Systems Engineer in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities
Performs Systems Engineering activities related to Information Technology or Engineering including concept of operations formulation, requirements definition, analysis and engineering, system architecting, system analysis and design, interface and data architectures, validation and verification, systems integration, system & op. performance analysis, lifecycle cost analysis & estimation, decision analysis and physical configuration analysis (PCA).
Engineer will support Test and Evaluation (T&E) of U.S. Navy surface ships and weapon systems for Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare System (PEO IWS) at the Navy Yard in Washington DC.
Work includes test design, planning, execution, analysis, and reporting for Aegis Combat System Test Events for USN and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers.
Engineer responsibilities will include identifying system requirements from source documents for verification and validation; defining and validating resources needed to test system requirements; involvement in test planning, budgeting, resource coordination, test execution and reporting; identifying the type, quantity and timing of surrogates needed. Provide technical engineering subject matter expertise in support of test planning and execution, cost analysis research and development.
As part of an integrated team provide subject matter expertise input into developing test planning documentation such as test objectives, MOE, MOPs, TEMP, Test Plans, data management plans.
Apply fundamental project management techniques in order to develop scope, budget, and schedule for T&E event.
The position will require occasional to frequent travel to test ranges and warfare center for programmatic and test support during events and infrequent travel to FMS customer locations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, preferably in an engineering or technical discipline, or four years of equivalent experience.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Proficient with MS Office applications.
Security Clearance
Ability to gain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance.
Preferred Requirements
Previous U.S. Navy or military experience preferred.
Target Salary Range $40,001 - $80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
