Responsibilities Directs food service operations within the community including food preparation, dining room operations, and dining delivery services.
Hires, trains and manages supervisory staff.
Consults with chefs to develop nutritious menus.
Develops department budget and monitors budget compliance.
Encourages socialization through dining events.
Networks with Regional Food Service Directors.
Qualifications College degree in food service or hospitality management preferred. Minimum eight years of progressive experience including three years in a responsible supervisory role.
Current ServSafe Certification required. Holds required food handling licenses.
Physical Demands
Standing, walking, sitting, use hands and fingers, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear, taste or smell.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Requires interaction with co‑workers, residents or vendors.
Occasional weekend, evening or night work if needed.
Possible exposure to blood‑borne pathogens, latex, communicable diseases.
Requires travel occasionally.
