Director of Dining Services • Brookdale
Brookdale Eddy Pond West is seeking a Director of Dining Services to direct food service operations within the community, including all food preparation, dining room operations, and dining delivery services. The role purchases all food, manages inventory, controls costs, ensures the highest nutrition and food quality, complies with regulations, and plans entertaining dining events and themes in collaboration with other staff.
Qualifications & Skills
College degree in food service or hospitality management, or equivalent experience.
Minimum eight years of progressive experience in the food service industry, including at least three years in a supervisory role.
Experience managing food inventories and budgets, preparing and cooking meals.
Strong customer service focus and financial management, including labor cost control and menu design.
ServSafe certification required.

Responsibilities
Direct all food service operations, including food preparation, dining room operations, and dining delivery.
Purchase food, manage inventory, and ensure cost controls and quality.
Ensure nutrition and food quality for residents.
Comply with all sanitary and safety regulations.
Plan and execute dining events and themes with cross‑departmental collaboration.
Hire, train, and manage supervisory staff for kitchen, dining room, catering, and delivery services.
Consult with chefs and cooks to develop pleasing, nutritious menus that reflect resident preferences.
Develop and manage the department budget; monitor and adjust expenditures.
Enhance dining room décor and environment for safety and enjoyment.
Network with regional directors to improve operations and reduce costs.
Physical Demands
Standing, walking, sitting; use of hands and fingers to handle food.
Reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl as required.
Talk, hear, taste, and smell.
Lift up to 50 pounds.
Interaction with co‑workers, residents, and vendors.
Occasional weekend, evening, or night work.
Possible exposure to communicable diseases, latex, blood‑borne pathogens, chemicals.
Travel occasionally.
