Senior Budget and Financial Analyst – Washington County Department of Housing Services
Base pay range: $97,423.80/yr – $118,369.20/yr
Washington County Department of Housing Services is looking for a Senior Budget and Financial Analyst to lead the annual budget process and provide financial analysis for the Housing Department and Housing Authority.
Responsibilities This position leads the annual budget process and financial analysis, prepares financial reports monthly, quarterly, and annually, supports long‑range forecasting and scenario planning, oversees department and fund budgets, supports audits, and develops internal controls.
Ideal Candidate
Hands‑on experience in budgeting, financial reporting, and analysis in a dynamic and complex environment.
Skillfully facilitates budgeting with different business partners, analyzes and communicates financial information, and supports long‑range forecasting and scenario planning for capital projects and ongoing operations.
Has experience in multiple public or private sector entities and industries.
Possesses strong interpersonal skills to maintain working relationships with different County departments, advisory bodies, external audit firms, and others.
Has strong organization and project management skills, as well as a high attention to detail.
Minimum Qualifications
A Master’s Degree in finance, accounting, economics, statistics, or a related field; AND two (2) years of progressively responsible professional experience performing budgetary or financial analysis, or auditing, which includes at least one (1) year of supervisory or lead worker experience spanning responsibilities in the defined principal duties of this position classification; OR
A Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, economics, statistics, or a related field; AND four (4) years of progressively responsible professional experience performing budgetary or financial analysis, or auditing, which includes at least one (1) year of supervisory or lead worker experience spanning responsibilities in the defined principal duties of this position classification; OR
An Associate’s Degree in finance, accounting, economics, statistics, or a related field; AND six (6) years of progressively responsible professional experience performing budgetary or financial analysis, or auditing, which includes at least one (1) year of supervisory or lead worker experience spanning responsibilities in the defined principal duties of this position classification; OR
Eight (8) years of progressively responsible professional experience performing budgetary or financial analysis, or auditing, of which at least four (4) years of this experience must be in the public sector and includes at least one (1) year of supervisory or lead worker experience spanning responsibilities in the defined principal duties of this position classification.
