THE POSITION
Washington County's Land Use & Transportation is hiring a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Administrative Services Division. The Senior Financial Analyst is a critical function within the department. This role supervises 3 Financial Analysts who manage budgets for Capital Project Services, Engineering, Traffic and Survey, and Operations and Maintenance divisions of LUT. This role shares responsibility for budget development and monitoring, and department financial support including: development of the fee schedule, department cost plan development, cash flow analysis on special and capital funds, state financial reporting, and annual asset reporting. The role is responsible for interpreting budget requirements, following state budget laws and County budget compliance requirements, reviewing historical data, and predicting future trends related to financial forecasting. Education and Experience: A Master’s Degree in finance, accounting, economics, statistics, or a related field; AND two (2) years of progressively responsible professional experience performing budgetary or financial analysis, or auditing, including at least one (1) year of supervisory or lead worker experience spanning responsibilities in the defined principal duties of this position classification; OR A Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, economics, statistics, or a related field; AND four (4) years of progressively responsible professional experience performing budgetary or financial analysis, or auditing, including at least one (1) year of supervisory or lead worker experience spanning responsibilities in the defined principal duties of this position classification; OR An Associate’s Degree in finance, accounting, economics, statistics, or a related field; AND six (6) years of progressively responsible professional experience performing budgetary or financial analysis, or auditing, including at least one (1) year of supervisory or lead worker experience spanning responsibilities in the defined principal duties of this position classification; OR Eight (8) years of progressively responsible professional experience performing budgetary or financial analysis, or auditing, of which at least four (4) years must be in the public sector and include at least one (1) year of supervisory or lead worker experience spanning responsibilities in the defined principal duties of this position classification.
