Job Description Provide financial and accounting management in support of four manufacturing plants. Duties include: oversight for reporting, costing, analysis, expense review, forecasts, and internal control compliance.
Specific Responsibilities
Implement and ensure compliance for all controlling policies.
Manage the monthly closing process adhering to all timelines and reporting to be accurate.
Develop, analyze, and interpret statistical information for monthly reporting of key financial data (KPIs).
Ensure accurate and timely completion of external reporting requirements (monthly, quarterly, and annually). This includes Sustainability and Operations reporting.
Ensure proper general ledger coding of all transactions and approve (or reject) transactions as required.
Responsible for updating all inventory costs, including labor and overhead, and ensuring that standards are accurate. Manage all aspects of product costing standards for each factory.
Prepare and analyze manufacturing reports for cost center reporting, benchmark metrics, purchase price variance for raw materials, process order settlements, process order variances, work in process, inventory levels & turns (working capital management), DOH, velocity, shipping costs, returns, obsolete inventory, labor costing, capital assets, etc; make recommendations for corrective actions.
Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual plant expense forecasts and track vs. actual vs. target.
Track cost center expenses against budget/prior year and capital investments (RPA’s) against plan. Advise management and recommend appropriate corrective actions as needed.
Work with department managers to develop short and long term financial goals; use SAP and other reporting tools available to measure the performance. Partner with department managers to improve financial performance and gain efficiencies.
Improve inventory accuracy by managing inventory control systems including cycle counts & physical inventories; maintain records to document and explain variances.
Conduct periodic reviews of common operations business practices and adopt the best demonstrated practice when possible.
Assist plant management with the identification of and participate in cost savings improving projects and monitor.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
3 - 5 years accounting experience
Cost accounting experience required
Knowledge of BI (Business Intelligence) desired
SAP experience desired
Project Management experience desirable and ability to effectively lead inter‑departmental teams
Strong customer focus required
High level of communication/presentation skills
Must have excellent organization and interpersonal skills
Business travel occasionally required
