Summary
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the application.

Responsibilities
Providing initial program screenings and assessments.
Conducting weekly individual DBT sessions and co‑leading DBT skills training groups.
Offering patient phone coaching and case management.
Facilitating measurement‑based care, program evaluation, and improvement efforts.
Participating in a weekly DBT consultation team.
Providing education and consultation to other programs and disciplines.
Delivering clinical services in-person and via tele‑health as appropriate.
Contributing to the Psychology Training Program and supervising externs, interns, and post‑doctoral fellows as needed.
Conditions of Employment
U.S. Citizenship required.
All selected applicants will undergo urinalysis testing; refusal will result in denial of employment.
Selective Service registration required for eligible males.
Proficient in written and spoken English.
Background/security investigation required.
Completion of online onboarding and acceptable identification required.
Pre‑employment physical examination required.
Participation in seasonal influenza vaccination program required.

Trial Period As a condition of employment, you will serve a 1 or 2‑year trial period during which the agency will evaluate your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest. Upon completion, employment will be terminated unless certification is issued.
Qualifications Basic Requirements Doctoral degree in psychology from an APA, PCSAS, or CPA accredited program. Specialty area must align with the assignment. Transcripts required. Internships must be accredited by APA or CPA. Current, unrestricted state license required. Board certification acceptable for temporary appointment.
Experience Levels GS‑11: no additional experience beyond basic requirements. GS‑12: at least one year of professional psychologist experience, with knowledge and skills listed in the detailed list below. GS‑13: at least two additional years, with at least one year equivalent to GS‑12. Preferred experience includes DBT-Linehan Board certification or advanced DBT clinical experience.
