Summary
The position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Applicants must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit the EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the application.

Duties
Provides a full range of clinically indicated evaluations and interventions, including consultation, risk assessment, functional assessment, diagnostic evaluation, psychoeducation, and individual, couples, family, and group psychotherapy.
Selects and provides the most appropriate psychotherapeutic techniques; uses evidence-based care for mental, behavioral, or emotional disorders, as well as adjunctive treatments for medical conditions (e.g., chronic pain, sleep issues, weight management, diabetes, cancer, heart disease).
Completes intakes and makes appropriate treatment recommendations based on assessments.
Provides clinical supervision and training to psychology and/or psychiatry trainees.
Attends and participates in treatment team meetings and serves as a consultant to other providers.
Completes administrative functions, including report and progress note writing and attending discipline‑specific, staff, service, and organizational meetings.
Responds to clinic consults, coordinates patient care, and assists with tracking clinic data.
Provides interdisciplinary clinical consultation and clinical guidance to mental health and medical staff, as needed.

Urinalysis for illegal drug use required; refusal forfeits position.
Selective Service Registration required for males born after 12/31/1959.
Proficiency in written and spoken English required.
Background/security investigation required.
On‑boarding process with acceptable identification documents required (including new driver’s license rules).
Seasonal influenza vaccination program participation required.

Trial Period As a condition of employment, applicants will serve a 2‑year trial period during which performance is evaluated. Continuation depends on performance, agency needs, and public interest considerations.
Qualifications Applicants pending completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are met.
U.S. Citizenship, or authorization for non‑citizens if no qualified citizens available.
English Language Proficiency in spoken and written English.
License: Full, current, unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
Education: Doctoral degree in psychology from an APA, PCSAS, or CPA accredited program, with a specialty area consistent with the assignment; or other eligible combinations as described.
Internship: Completed a professional psychology internship accredited by APA or CPA, consistent with assignment; other acceptable options listed.
Additional KSAs required for GS‑12 and GS‑13 grade levels are detailed below.
For GS‑12: Knowledge of wide range of professional psychological treatments; ability to design and implement effective treatment strategies; incorporation of new clinical procedures; ability to conduct research activities; perform basic research tasks.
For GS‑13: Knowledge of professional psychological treatments for all populations; ability to provide advice and consultation; knowledge of clinical research literature.
