Staff RF MMIC Design Engineer
Location: Linthicum, MD. Work on revolutionary systems at Northrop Grumman.

Tasks
Perform system performance analysis and system level modeling based on lower-level component and segment models from other teams.
Model interactions (electrical, mechanical, thermal, digital, etc.) among lower-level modeled components and segments to analyze performance.
Analyze simulations to support performance and effectiveness; report on performance metrics related to that analysis.
Experience with Cadence Virtuoso layout design flow, especially custom cell creation such as MPPs and Pcells, with working knowledge of physical design verification processes in Calibre IC verification suite and design environment or other 3D full-wave EM simulation tools such as HFSS.
Collaborate cross-functionally to support development of Segment architecture and CONOPS, perform trade studies and analysis, and support verification planning.
As needed, support the preparation of design and engineering materials during System Requirements Review, System Functional Review, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, System Verification Review, and Test Readiness Review.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science STEM degree with 12 years of experience in RF, Analog, or Mixed Signal Circuit design; Master of Science STEM degree with 10 years of experience; or PhD with 8 years of experience.
Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso or similar IC design software.
Working knowledge of IC design flow including schematic capture, simulation, and layout.
Strong understanding of RF network and resonator transmission line theory.
Understanding of fundamental principles of finite element analysis.
Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in simulation tool development, verification, and loop closure comparison to test results.
This position requires U.S. citizenship.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance per business requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with RF/microwave circuit design and proficiency with ADS suite of tools.
Microwave engineering background; understanding of s-parameters and impedance matching techniques.
Proficient use of at least one of the following software tools for linear and nonlinear circuit characterization: ANSYS (HFSS/Maxwell3D), ADS (Momentum), COMSOL, etc.
2D and 3D Electromagnetic modeling experience with commercial tools such as ANSYS (HFSS/Maxwell3D), COMSOL, Momentum, etc.
RF, EMI/EMC PI signal integrity experience.
Salary Range Primary Level Salary Range: $163,200.00 - $244,800.00.
