Senior Assistant Director of Admissions Events & Campus Visits
in the Office of Admissions and Merit Awards.
Responsible for supervising student tour guides, managing the campus visit program, and coordinating and planning enrollment/yield events. The Senior Assistant Director creates a high‑touch, student‑friendly campus visit experience for prospective students, families, and educators.
Duties
Manages and supervises the student tour guide program by recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating all student tour guides and tracks performance to ensure superior customer service and an excellent campus visit experience.
Manages the daily campus visit program for prospective students, families, educators, and other special groups; serves as the consistent point of contact throughout the pre‑visit process; manages the daily operation of the Welcome Center, including facility set‑up and technology needs.
Coordinates and plans enrollment and yield events including Atheneum Scholars, on‑campus admitted student events, off‑campus admitted student events, counselor luncheons, and other in‑person enrollment‑driven events.
Consistently raises awareness of the importance of the campus visit experience among campus community members; provides campus visit data to department leadership for assessment and program improvement.
Provides exceptional customer service to all constituents, including faculty, staff, students, visitors, and the community at large.
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. At least two (2) years of experience in admissions or student recruitment in a college or university setting.
Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree. Direct experience in supervising student workers and/or tour guides and experience coordinating and supervising large‑scale recruitment events is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Sensitivity to the needs of all prospective students and the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and counselors. Ability to perform detailed work and handle students’ confidential matters. Ability to use an admissions CRM, student information system and basic computer software to update and carry out the details of student recruitment activities. Must be a team player and able to work in a multi‑task environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated leadership/supervisory capabilities are required. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with professional staff across campus.
