Position Summary
Bilingual Senior Counselor role at Wheeler Health. Transitions youth ages 17-21 into adulthood. Supports youth in securing housing, employment, education, and life skills. Works in the Transitional Support for Emerging Adults program.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field.
Experience working with young adults and at-risk youth.
Fluent Spanish and English.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Responsibilities
Assess and develop treatment plans in accordance with program model.
Work with young adults to establish permanency, education, employment, housing, and independent living skills.
Provide group, individual, and family counseling with appropriate supervision.
Maintain records of counseling, coordination of care, child and family team meetings, and case management activities.
Demonstrate knowledge of basic psychopathology, crisis theory, and intervention modalities.
Support daily program operations and transport clients to appointments as needed.
Provide safety planning, crisis intervention, and clinical emergencies with supervision.
Participate in development, implementation, and facilitation of treatment plans, transition plans, and timelines.
Make appropriate referrals for identified support and service needs.
Meet direct service productivity goals and adhere to program guidelines.
Identify potential risk factors and reduce risks through trauma-informed, relationally-based interventions.
Attend supervision, team meetings, staff meetings, or rounds for case coordination.
Communicate effectively with clients, families, and providers.
Develop knowledge about cultural values and use appropriate therapeutic techniques.
Compensation Stipend: $2,288 per month. Rate: $21 per hour.
