SUMMARY The Secondary Grade Band 9–12 Instructional Teacher delivers rigorous, data‑driven ELA instruction in an online environment, engaging students through classroom partnerships, curriculum alignment, and student‑centered instructional models.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Implement student‑centered instructional strategies that increase engagement and achievement.

Create and adapt instructional resources to meet diverse learner needs.

Take ownership of students’ academic progress and attendance, communicating high expectations.

Prepare students for high‑stakes standardized tests and continuously analyze data to prescribe remediation or enrichment.

Participate in data analysis meetings to monitor growth and submit grades with academic honesty.

Adapt course content using synchronous and asynchronous tools per policy and procedure.

Organize virtual extracurricular activities and proctor state exams as required.

Collaborate with parents, families, and instructional partners to support student outcomes.

Maintain professional growth through coaching, trainings, and technology learning.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

Refer students timely to support systems and maintain contact with Family Support Liaison.

Provide data and feedback to content academic teachers.

Manage Canvas modules, student assessments, and documentation.

Attend professional meetings, parent conferences, and school events as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Education (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

GA PSC Education Certificate in ELA for grades 9–12.

Certified teacher in Georgia (or evidence of qualified teacher status).

Previous experience teaching grades 9–12 ELA in a virtual or dual‑enrollment setting (minimum 2 years).

Strong proficiency in Canvas, Infinite Campus, Zoom, and Microsoft Office.

Data‑analysis skills and ability to align curriculum with state standards.

Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Valid driver’s license and reliable high‑speed internet (home office). 25% travel possible.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Advanced Degree in Education or related field.

Gifted, ESOL, or SE certification.

Advanced Placement (APSI) certificate.

Experience with MAP, NWEA, or other performance assessment tools.

Proficiency in G‑suite, NWEA MAP, Bright Thinker, Nearpod, and other virtual platforms.

WORK ENVIRONMENT Primarily Monday–Friday 8 am–5 pm remote with occasional in‑office days; light lifting; requires reliable laptop, Internet, and Zoom during working hours.
