Systems Administrator Specialist – Windows Position within the University of Georgia Enterprise Information Technology Services (EITS). Responsible for management and support of Windows Server environments (2016 and newer) for the UGA community.

Key Responsibilities

Administration of physical and virtual server hardware, installation and configuration of Windows Server operating systems, patching, and troubleshooting.

Monitoring of server availability and performance, and implementation of mitigation strategies.

First‑contact support for after‑hours emergency troubleshooting on a rotating schedule.

Documentation of system setup, operation, and troubleshooting procedures for production systems.

Research, development, and deployment of new technologies, including cloud integration opportunities.

Participation in Continual Service Improvement processes and service enhancement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Windows Server (2016 or newer), Active Directory (2016 or newer), PowerShell, SharePoint, virtualization (VMware, Proxmox), cloud environments (AWS, Azure), monitoring systems (Nagios, Check_MK), and backup solutions (Veeam).

Strong technical documentation skills and knowledge of change management processes.

Benefits Employee benefits include eligible health and retirement plans, non‑exempt full‑time work schedule (8 am – 5 pm, Monday – Friday) with occasional after‑hours availability. Remote work and work‑authorization sponsorship are not eligible for this position.
