Position Summary This position serves on the Systems Engineering team within the University of Georgia Enterprise Information Technology Services (EITS) department. The focus of this position is primarily to support servers running the Windows Server operating system (2016 and newer).
Responsibilities
Administration of services and server infrastructure utilized by the entire UGA community:
Setup, configuration, upgrading, and troubleshooting of physical and virtual server hardware.
Installation, configuration, patching, upgrading, and troubleshooting of Windows Server operating systems and hosted applications.
Monitoring availability and performance of servers and services.
Serving as first‑contact for after‑hours emergency troubleshooting and problem resolution on a weekly‑rotating schedule with other team members.
Development and maintenance of written documentation for the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of high‑profile, production‑level services and servers.
Performing research and development activities necessary to achieve goals such as service deployment and improvement, system architecture changes, and cloud integration opportunities.
Engaging in the Continual Service Improvement process to assess services and identify opportunities for service enhancements.
Working as an experienced member of a supervised team.
