Job Summary

Murphy Oil is seeking a skilled and proactive OT Cloud Administrator with strong Microsoft Azure and cybersecurity experience to support and maintain the critical infrastructure within our Operational Technology (OT) environment. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in Azure security posture improvement, Windows Server administration, and Virtualization. Offshore and data center experience is highly desirable.

In this role, you will ensure the secure and reliable operation of OT systems by managing configurations, resolving vulnerabilities, supporting compliance efforts, and advancing Murphy's dedicated OT Azure environment.

The OT Cloud Administrator will in our Houston Corporate office and may work up to two (2) days a week remotely, as business needs allow.

Responsibilities

Azure & Cloud Services

Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in the design, implementation, and support of the dedicated OT Azure environment, including identity architecture, virtual networks, security controls, and resource segmentation Build Azure Policy and Automation to maintain consistent configuration in the OT tenants Contribute to the continuous improvement of the organization's Azure security posture, including hardening identity infrastructure, minimizing attack surface, and implementing security recommendations from Microsoft Secure Score and Defender for Cloud Support integration of OT workloads into MxDR, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Microsoft Defender solutions for visibility and threat detection Liaise with the Cloud Center of Excellence team to develop and deploy cloud governance, standards, and patterns Administer and support Microsoft Azure, including Azure AD, ADConnect, Conditional Access policies, and Just-In-Time (JIT) access configurations for privileged accounts Maintain and update FinOps practices to promote responsible cloud spending Systems Administration

Manage Active Directory, including user/group management, GPO management, and ADConnect Configure and support Windows & Virtualization Server infrastructure ensuring availability, integrity, and security Administer certificate services for secure machine and service communication Provide support for data center operations, including physical server deployment, racking and stacking, cabling, hardware replacement, and environmental monitoring Provide OT support for offshore, data center, and field locations as needed Monitoring & Virtualization

Manage and optimize VMware environments and virtual machines supporting OT systems Monitor infrastructure using tools such as SCOM, StruxureWare, OpenManage, SolarWinds, and Azure Monitor Backup & Recovery

Support existing backup solutions (e.g., Rubrik, Avamar) to ensure recoverability and resilience against system outages or ransomware Assist with backup job monitoring, basic troubleshooting, and recovery coordination Endpoint & Asset Management

Use SCCM for patch management, software deployment, and endpoint configuration Maintain accurate OT asset inventory, including virtual and physical infrastructure Cybersecurity & Compliance

Implement technical security controls aligned with IEC 62443, NIST CSF, or Zero Trust Architecture Drive vulnerability remediation, system hardening, and privileged access management across OT systems Participate in security incident response and threat containment efforts Maintain alignment with enterprise SIEM platforms (e.g., Azure Sentinel or other SOC-supported solutions) Licenses/ Certifications

Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) or higher ISC2 SSCP, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent VMware Certified Professional (VCP) Qualifications/ Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field Minimum 5 years of experience in system administration, preferably in an OT or industrial control system (ICS) environment Demonstrated experience with: Microsoft Azure administration, particularly security-focused configuration and posture improvement Azure AD, Conditional Access, JIT access, and ADConnect Windows Server, Virtualization, Active Directory, GPOs, and certificate services

Knowledge of process control design, implementation, and troubleshooting Broad knowledge of automation and electrical devices and equipment Knowledge of personal computers and windows operating systems Knowledge of working with virtual machines Advanced knowledge of communications networks and radios Ability to produce network diagrams, process flow diagrams, using Microsoft Visio Ability to effectively cooperate with personnel of different backgrounds and skill level Ability to train and transfer knowledge to others Strong ability to create and maintain relevant documentation Ability to manage OT/IT network segregation including firewall support Travel 10-15% to Eagleford Shale (EFS), Canada and Gulf of America (GOA) Platforms The individual is required to follow all applicable safety precautions. Work is performed almost entirely in a controlled (i.e., inside) environment and does not typically subject the incumbent to any hazardous/extreme elements; some positions may require regularly moving or transporting items weighing up to 25 lbs. around the office for various needs. The successful candidate must be able to complete all essential physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

SCCM, monitoring tools (SCOM, StruxureWare, SolarWinds, etc.) Experience in offshore or industrial OT environments Strong understanding of OT/ICS cybersecurity principles Experience with cybersecurity implementation in OT/ICS environments Familiarity with Zero Trust design, segmentation, and identity-based access models Knowledge of security tools like Claroty, Palo Alto, or Microsoft Defender for IoT Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to document technical designs and procedures #LI-Hybrid
