Base pay range $33.00/hr - $37.00/hr
Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Clinical Genomics Research Scientist to design, develop, and implement cutting‑edge genomics and transcriptomics strategies in support of clinical and translational research programs. The successful candidate will bring deep technical expertise in NGS, assay development, and genomic data interpretation to enable biomarker discovery, pharmacodynamic assessments, and clinical decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop genomics and transcriptomics assays including:
Broad genomic profiling (e.g., whole exome, targeted panels)
Pharmacodynamic and target engagement biomarkers
Predictive and prognostic assays for clinical applications.
Implement and optimize NGS and qPCR‑based assays for clinical research and biomarker programs.
Develop and validate assays for fit‑for‑purpose use in regulated or CLIA‑like environments.
Analyze and review QC data from NGS runs; troubleshoot and resolve assay performance issues.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Genomics, or related field.
Minimum of 4 years of hands‑on experience in NGS‑based assay development and clinical genomics.
An equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
Extensive experience with NGS platforms (e.g., Illumina, Ion Torrent) and downstream analysis.
Proficiency in qPCR, gene expression profiling, and variant analysis.
Demonstrated expertise in assay qualification/validation, troubleshooting, and quality control review.
Familiarity with regulatory guidelines for biomarker assays (e.g., CLIA, CAP, FDA).
