Brown Advisory is currently seeking a professional, energetic and detail‑oriented Tax Associate in our Baltimore office. Brown Advisory is a dynamic, independent investment management and strategic advisory firm, and we need additional tax expertise to support our global growth. You can expect rewarding career growth and opportunities for advancement within the corporate tax function.
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to
Prepare diverse tax calculations and supporting schedules across the Corporate Tax Function, including US and non-US income tax provisions, internal regulatory filings, and associated working papers.
Submit quarterly and annual tax payments, maintain payment and tax notice trackers, and assist with notice responses.
Collaborate with the financial accounting team to record monthly tax provisions and maintain state apportionment schedules for corporate entities.
Support the private equity K-1 production process by gathering PBC information, managing equity‑related tax files, and working with outsourced tax return preparers.
Prepare and file Personal Property, Business License, Sales & Use, VAT, and other regulatory returns.
Conduct tax research and draft memoranda on various corporate tax issues. Stay current on tax knowledge through educational opportunities, professional publications, networking, and participation in industry organizations.
Maintain a positive attitude and a commitment to continuous professional development, delivering high‑quality service to internal teams and clients and proactively seeking guidance when needed.
Job requirements include
2–4 years total work experience in either public accounting or in-house tax department
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other related field. MST or MAcc a plus
CPA License or on CPA track a plus
Prior experience with Corporate and/or Partnership Tax Compliance required
Prior experience with income tax provision preparation a plus
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Detail oriented with ability to multi‑task
Ability to work in an office location
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer‑sponsored work authorization (e.g., H‑1B, O‑1, F‑1 (OPT), TN, or any other non‑immigrant visa classifications that require employer support or sponsorship).
Salary: $95‑110k. Commensurate with experience and location. Does not include bonus or long‑term incentive eligibility (if applicable).
