Job Summary
The Senior Associate Athletic Director of Development serves as the chief fundraising and solicitation officer for FIU Intercollegiate Athletics. They provide strategic and operational leadership to grow a comprehensive fundraising program and department in support of Intercollegiate Athletics. They work with the Athletics Director and Vice President to develop and execute annual and long‑term fundraising goals and operational plans. Responsibilities
Develop and direct the strategic plan for fundraising, stewardship, board management for Intercollegiate Athletics. Secure philanthropic support from individuals, corporations, and foundations, and manage a personal portfolio of up to 180 potential donors. Collaborate with coaches, the Director of Athletics, and the VP of Development to design fundraising and donor messaging. Plan, organize, and implement fundraising activities in partnership with Head Coaches and the VP of Development. Solicit support and manage a continually growing prospect portfolio of major gift prospects. Engage Head coaches in fundraising strategies and priorities and provide regular updates on goal progress. Maintain collaborative working relationships with key leadership, staff, board members and volunteers to support FIU Athletics. Draft, review proposals and major gift solicitation documents. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and twelve (12) years of experience with seven (7) years of experience in fundraising. Supervises/ manages subordinate staff. Desired Qualifications
Demonstrated experience securing major gifts ($100k+) and principal gifts ($500k+). Prior experience in a leadership role within an intercollegiate athletics fundraising program. A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible fundraising experience. Experience managing and leading a team of development professionals. Proven experience working with an athletic director and other university executives to develop and execute fundraising strategies. Salary
$155,000 – $165,000 Work Schedule
