Director of Physical Therapy Director of the School of Physical Therapy – Touro University Nevada (TUN) – responsible for creating and managing the physical therapy educational programs, providing leadership and directing day‑to‑day activities.

Overview Touro University Nevada is a non‑profit graduate university focused on positively impacting the community in healthcare and education. Since opening in 2004, TUN has served over 1,400 students and hosts facilities such as the Sharon Sigesmund Pierce and Stephen Pierce Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities and the Micael Tang Regional Center for Clinical Simulation.

Responsibilities

Assure program approval for accreditation or licensure by the Nevada Postsecondary Education Commission, Middle States Commission on Higher Education, and related agencies.

Coordinate the SOPT’s strategic planning process, develop and review the budget, monitor expenditures, and establish policies and procedures to meet accreditation standards.

Maintain open communication with the Commission of Accreditation for Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) and other accrediting bodies.

Engage in leadership activities aligned with organizational direction, ensure committee representation and minutes, and assist in promotional materials.

Collaborate on grant and philanthropic activities with the Dean and Institutional Advancement.

Maintain positive relationships with community agencies, advisory committees, and other academic institutions; lead partnerships with external healthcare agencies, foundations, organizations, and schools.

Facilitate faculty admission criteria, recruit qualified students, and support marketing and academic problem mediation.

Oversee enrollment trends, master scheduling, teaching schedules, program requirements, and faculty utilization.

Recruit and recommend staff and faculty, manage the hiring process with the Dean.

Promote professional development, scholarly productivity, service opportunities, and provide annual faculty development and evaluation plans.

Oversee curriculum development, clinical agreements, placement, program review, outcomes assessment, and monitor program effectiveness.

Evaluate performance of individual faculty and staff.

Ensure compliance with CAPTE evaluative criteria and maintain program development to address the evolving healthcare environment.

Provide required data for research, assessment, and grant initiatives; teach didactic and clinical courses; conduct research and other scholarly activity.

Education Doctoral in Physical Therapy (DPT) or earned academic doctorate; individuals in candidate status will be considered.

Qualifications

Licensed physical therapist and eligible for licensure in Nevada.

Doctoral in Physical Therapy (DPT) or earned academic doctorate; candidates considered.

Experience

Demonstrated understanding of higher education and clinical practice.

Minimum five years’ experience as a physical therapy clinician.

Five years’ experience full‑time teaching in a CAPTE accredited physical therapy program.

A record of successful teaching performance.

Two years’ experience in a higher education program leadership role or completion of the American Physical Therapy Association Leadership Training program preferred.
