Director, Doctor of Physical Therapy Program
The Conway Medical Center College of Health and Human Performance is accepting applications for the inaugural Director of the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. The successful candidate will be an effective, innovative, collaborative leader, teacher, and scholar who will play a central role in designing, implementing, and directing this new 12‑month program beginning in Spring 2026. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities
Oversight of the Physical Therapy program, including DPT program development for CAPTE candidacy, assessment, planning, fiscal management, faculty hiring and evaluations, and curriculum.
Accountability for CAPTE accreditation assessment and compliance.
Active contributions to the curriculum and scholarship of the program and school, including fulfillment of a scholarly agenda.
Teach students in the classroom, laboratory, and/or studio.
Post and hold regular office hours each week per College and University guidelines; engage in University‑related activities including committee assignments, meetings, ceremonies, events, and scholarly pursuits as prescribed in the Faculty Manual.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Earned clinical doctorate in Physical Therapy (DTP) or a terminal doctorate (Ph.D., Ed.D., D.Sc.) in a discipline appropriate for teaching responsibilities from a regionally accredited program or CAPTE exemption.
Minimum of six years of employment in higher education, with three years as core faculty members in an accredited entry‑level physical therapist education program.
Licensed as a Physical Therapist in SC or eligible for licensure in SC.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous DPT Program Director experience.
Documented prior leadership, administrative, program development, personnel, policy development, curriculum development, and budgetary experience.
Demonstrated experience in leading successful CAPTE accreditation processes.
