Infrastructure & Capital Projects – Project Safety Advisor Accelerate the delivery of infrastructure and capital projects that keep communities moving. As a Project Safety Advisor, you will lead on‑site safety inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, training and safety culture initiatives to protect people, assets and projects.

Location Chicago, IL – onsite with client partners.

The Work

Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA, local, and company standards.

Review and update Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and site‑specific safety plans.

Perform pre‑task safety assessments to identify hazards such as fall risks, electrical hazards, and heavy equipment operations.

Lead risk assessments for high‑risk activities—scaffolding, trenching, crane operations, and confined spaces—and enforce control measures.

Investigate all incidents, near‑misses, and violations, documenting root causes, witness statements, and corrective actions.

Maintain incident logs, perform trend analysis, and report findings to project leadership, insurance providers, and regulatory bodies.

Conduct new hire safety orientations and toolbox talks on topics such as fall protection, fire prevention, equipment safety, and hazardous materials handling.

Develop and deliver specialized safety training programs, including forklift certification, lockout/tagout, and hazardous materials handling.

Foster a proactive safety culture by engaging workers, recognizing safe behaviors, and addressing unsafe acts promptly.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental or Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, or Engineering (or equivalent experience).

Demonstrated expertise in EPA standards, OSHA 500 (Authorized Outreach Trainer), OSHA 510, or a related field.

Minimum 3 years of project safety experience in large‑scale infrastructure or construction projects.

Strong communication and training delivery skills.

Ability to work onsite at client sites and travel as needed.

Clear emergency directive delivery during incidents.

Adapt training for multilingual crews (Spanish proficiency is a plus).

Navigating subcontractor safety accountability challenges.

Compensation Base pay range: $110,000 – $120,000 per year.
