Responsibilities

Lead comprehensive design projects through all phases from initial programming to construction administration.

Manage design projects, assist in proposals and budgets, and supervise team members while ensuring compliance with standards.

Contribute strategically to the design process, ensuring efficient project delivery and execution.

Coordinate effectively with various teams across the office and firm, as well as consultants and strategic partners, for successful project delivery.

Ensure that the project meets environmental, safety, structural, zoning, and aesthetic standards.

Develop detailed interior architectural plans, including finishes, reflected ceilings, elevations, and specifications.

Perform comprehensive construction administration, ensuring effective project documentation and contractor coordination.

Develop furniture specification packages, oversee bid process, and coordinate installation for various project types.

Coordinate with external partners, including art and signage vendors, to fulfill design and financial requirements.

Provide leadership and mentorship to junior designers, enhancing project collaboration and execution.

Support office initiatives, promote key firm programs, and participate in continuous learning opportunities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design or related field; NCIDQ certification preferred.

8+ years of relevant interior design experience in a professional environment.

Demonstrated portfolio covering various phases of project work and strong ability to communicate and present design concepts effectively.

Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, Enscape, Microsoft Suite, and Adobe Creative Suite, along with knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, and procurement.

In‑depth knowledge of sustainable and universal design concepts, with good aesthetic judgment.

Strong understanding of budgets and financial accountability, prioritizing and executing tasks effectively amidst competing priorities.

Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, absorbing new ideas and concepts quickly.

Exceptional customer service skills and flexibility to focus multiple projects in various stages of development.

Active participation in industry professional organizations and ability to provide business development for the firm within the practice expertise area.

Firm grasp of building technology fundamentals and thorough knowledge of relevant codes, operations, processes, and trends.

Excellent time management, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and cultural awareness.

Strong graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas and iterate based on client requests and project constraints.

Preferred

Experience with Newforma Project Center, Prolog Project Manager, or Primavera Systems Expedition software.

Experience with Microsoft Project, Bluebeam PDF Revu.

Additional relevant certifications such as construction administration, interior design, LEED/Green Globes/sustainability, etc.

Experience writing and editing specifications.
