Aery is seeking an experienced Controller to join our team.

The successful candidate must work collaboratively with company project leads and organizational representatives to provide accounting and job costing support in the design, fabrication, assembly, integration, and test of systems, parts, and components.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner,

Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable,

Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly,

Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed,

Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis,

Maintain the chart of accounts,

Maintain an orderly accounting filing system,

Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions,

Preparation of annual Direct and Indirect Cost budgets by Program and Department for individual corporate entities and consolidate those budgets for reporting purposes,

Preparation of workpapers supporting the annual tax return,

Coordinate the preparation of annual tax return and Partner K‑1’s with outside CPA firm,

Review and recordation of journal entries required to reflect the monthly, quarterly and annual activity,

Preparation of workpapers supporting the monthly close process and month end balances,

Review monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained,

Preparation of monthly financial statements and related footnotes.

Preparation of the year to date cash flow,

Additional CFO Supporting Responsibilities

Assist the CFO in maintaining records for retirement accounts (i.e., 401‑K Plan)

Assist the CFO in the process to record transactions by department and compare costs incurred to budget and performance analysis of Project Status Reports

Assist the CFO with the performance of Project cash projections to effectively manage cash balances to ensure adequate funding,

Maintenance of fixed asset records to coordinate quarterly inventory of fixed assets with the Production department

Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective internal controls,

Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting,

Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations

Supervise assigned personnel,

Accurate and timely production of all financial information,

Proper analytical review of the asset operations from a balance sheet, income statement and cash flow perspective as well as an overall business perspective,

Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time as directed by the CFO

Education and Qualifications (Required Knowledge, skills, abilities and certifications/licenses)

Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting.

C.P.A. is preferred.

8+ years experience in the accounting and finance sector.

4+ years experience managing Government Financial Accounting and Cost Accounting processes.

3+ years in a position equivalent to a controller or higher responsibilities.

Fluent in Government Accounting Requirements, Calculation of Indirect Rates and Production of Incurred Costing Reports and possess the ability to discern the differences between Government and Commercial Accounting requirements to maximum benefit of the Company.

Experience designing, implementing and managing a real‑time financial reporting system that report individual and consolidated project performance review data with weekly status updates.

Additional Technological Savvy

Possess the technological savvy to improve the automation of financial KPI's using current tools.

Accountabilities and Performance Measures

Ability to Maintain a 10‑day closing window for Monthly Reporting

Ability to Implement and maintain a 20‑day closing window for Quarterly Reporting

Ability to Implement and maintain a 30‑day closing window for Annual Reporting

Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit

Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants

Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

Annual Training Requirements (Subject to Change)

Ethics Training – 4 hours minimum per year

GAAP Compliance Recurrent Training – 10 hours minimum per year

Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) & Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) Compliance Recurrent Training -20 hours minimum per year
