About the Department The Sleep Study Department works closely with medical teams, patients, and families to deliver comprehensive sleep studies. We seek a dedicated Polysomnographic Technologist/Technician to join our team.
Mission for Position Help others get the rest they need. Provide individualized care while maintaining patient dignity and confidentiality. Perform detailed sleep studies and assist in interpreting results.
Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct precise polysomnographic studies to diagnose and treat sleep disorders.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and best practices.
Work closely with providers to generate accurate, reliable data for treatment plans.
Continuously seek ways to enhance patient experience and streamline processes.
Team up with medical staff, healthcare professionals, and patients to ensure seamless care.
Stay ahead of the curve with ongoing technical training and skill development.
Help create a supportive, patient-focused environment where compassionate care comes first.
Review patient history, medications, and protocols to set up each study for success.
Prepare, calibrate, and maintain sleep study equipment for MSLT, MWT, PAP titration, and more.
Educate and comfort patients—because a relaxed patient means better results.
Monitor, document, and verify data accuracy, ensuring high-quality test results.
Administer PAP therapy or oxygen as needed and assist with scoring and reporting.
Keep the sleep lab running smoothly with infection control, equipment upkeep, and supply management.
Position Type
Full-time position working up to 72 hours per pay period.
12‑hour night shifts, no holiday work required.
Partial weekend coverage, including Sunday night shifts.
Casual employment opportunities available; no weekend or holiday coverage required.
Qualifications
Completion of a polysomnography program (at least one year in duration) from a state‑licensed or nationally accredited facility, or six months of experience as a Polysomnographic Trainee with demonstrated competency or RPSGT credential from the BRPT.
Holds a valid Minnesota license as an RPSGT, RN/LPN, RRT, or CRT.
Current BLS certification.
