Administers a variety of payroll processes and transactions. Includes: reviewing and preparing payroll runs to generate payroll checks, accounting reports, vouchers, check registers, payroll registers, and deduction checks: editing timecard details report against calculated pay for employees; ensuring pay code time used balances with standard hours; balancing calculated payroll deductions against employee deductions; reviewing, verifying, and processing garnishments; resolving errors and discrepancies; processing and printing employee payroll checks; balancing check print totals updates; generating related reports; processing direct deposits and positive pays; calculating and preparing encumbered payrolls; processing leave status and accruals; processing employee status changes, and performing other related activities

Initiates, processes, and reviews routine and/or specialized paperwork, forms, reports, and/or confidential information related to payroll and employment processes, ensuring completeness and accuracy of information; maintains related records. Responds to inquiries and requests for payroll information including employment verifications for external entities. Research questions and provides substantiating documentation and/or data. Explains payroll practices and procedures to users and resolves discrepancies

Compiles, prepares and submits a variety of reports and payments. Includes: researching and compiling information and reports for annual payroll audits, investigations, and other inquiries; reporting and payments for State and Federal taxes; retirement vendors such as Wyoming Retirement System and TIAA, workers' compensation vendors, benefit insurance vendors; reporting for the, Department of Labor, and Wyoming Community College

Administers payroll related functions and communications for new hire onboarding and employee exit processing. Includes: creating and maintaining a variety of records, systems and files including confidential employee files; collecting and completing new hire documents; managing files; communicating final pay, benefits, and leave information to exiting employees; disseminating forms for personnel and payroll changes; communicating with internal stakeholders regarding status changes

Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
