This Sr. Finance Manager – Strategic Partnership Enablement is part of the Cloud Controllership & Enablement finance team that supports some of Microsoft’s most exciting and emerging businesses, including Azure, Artificial Intelligence, Gaming, Experience and Devices, Productivity, and all the cloud infrastructure that runs them.

This position drives enablement, optimization and oversight of Financial Accounting and Operations for large-scale AI partnership. Partnering with Business Development, Cloud Finance and Operations, this role is expected to define and deliver timely and compliant solutions to enable new commercial contracts and terms.

Responsibilities

Drive successful enablement and execution of complex large-scale AI Partnership.

Acts as subject matter expert for contract terms and deal finance and accounting operations. Ensure compliance with contractual requirements.

Manage and oversee comprehensive end-to-end deal and program processes and deliverables execution through engagement with internal and external stakeholders.

Drive collaboration and accountability across various teams including Finance, Accounting, Operations, Business Development, Engineering, Compliance and other partners.

Facilitate to resolve complex issues. Create alignment between business stakeholders and influence leadership decision‑making of complex scenarios. Consider competing views and alternative solutions when formulating recommendations.

Understand the interconnections between data and processes and conceptualize and design new approaches to finance and accounting processes. Drive improvements through automation. Apply understanding of advanced technology to mitigate risks and drive efficiencies and scalability.

Identify and manage business risk. Ensure controls are implemented and data security practices are adhered to. Ensure partnership is compliantly operationalized in accordance with MS Policies, GAAP and SOX.

Document end-to-end processes in detail and at a high‑level that can be leveraged by execution teams and for executive presentations.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.

2+ years work experience in the technology or software industry

2+ years work experience with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis) and demonstrated ability to perform accurate financial calculations.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years of post‑graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience OR

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years of post‑graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance work experience OR equivalent experience.

1+ year(s) work experience in cross‑functional partnering and leadership capabilities, with the ability to influence others without direct authority, including the ability to build trusted advisor status and deep relationships across stakeholders.

1+ year(s) work experience in demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems, clearly communicate potential issues and risks, and proactively drive effective solutions

1+ year(s) work experience in project management experience and demonstrated ability to lead meetings, influence and drive impact.

1+ year(s) work experience in carrying out the process of planning, organizing, and managing tasks and resources to accomplish a well‑defined objective.

1+ year(s) work experience in providing thought leadership, systems thinking and understand the big picture as well as having an outstanding attention to the underlying details and end‑to‑end processes.

1+ year(s) work experience with foresight in process improvement, simplification, and automation.

1+ year(s) work experience in reading and interpreting complex contracts.

1+ year(s) work experience in accounting principles and processes.

Financial Analysis IC4 Salary Range Typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. Specific location ranges: San Francisco Bay area $123,500 - $206,400 per year; New York City Metropolitan area $123,500 - $206,400 per year.
