Overview
Position: Lecturer in Dance The Dance Program at the Lewis Center for the Arts, Princeton University, has occasional curricular need for part-time lecturers in all disciplines, and accepts applications in advance in the event the occasion arises where such lecturers are needed. These positions are subject to enrollments and will be for one semester, non-tenure track, and potentially renewable, with an expected start date of January 16, 2026. The ideal candidates are active teachers, practitioners, and/or scholars who demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate teaching and to inclusive pedagogy. Teaching areas include contemporary dance practices, multimedia dance formats, and dance history with a particular focus on non-Western dance traditions. Princeton is interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching, and service, will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community. The work location for these positions is in-person on campus at Princeton University. Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate courses in dance for one semester (non-tenure track) with potential renewal. Contribute to inclusive pedagogy and support diversity within the academic community. Deliver courses in areas such as contemporary dance practices, multimedia dance formats, and dance history, including non-Western traditions. Prepare and submit course materials, including sample syllabi from previous courses taught (to accompany the application). Participate in the application process as needed (e.g., interviews) and comply with background check requirements. Qualifications
Active teachers, practitioners, and/or scholars with a commitment to undergraduate teaching. Preferred qualifications include an MFA, PhD, or equivalent experience. Ability to contribute to diversity and excellence in the academic community. Application Process
