Job Description
Pay Range: $65hr - $70hr The Payments Solutions Architect will lead the design and implementation of enterprise-grade payment platforms, leveraging deep expertise in domestic and cross-border payment systems. The role involves defining technical architecture, guiding distributed engineering teams, and ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performance payment solutions. Responsibilities
Architect enterprise-scale payment platforms, ensuring reliability, scalability, and compliance with industry standards. Lead and mentor distributed engineering teams and solution architects. Define technology strategies and architecture for payment systems, including API-first design, microservices, and cloud deployment. Design and implement event-driven systems leveraging Kafka, MQ, or similar messaging frameworks. Provide technical guidance on domestic and cross-border payments, including ACH, SWIFT, ISO 20022, RTP, SEPA, Fedwire. Advise on card processing, merchant acquiring, wallets, and tokenization solutions. Explore and implement emerging technologies such as Blockchain, DLT, and digital currencies. Communicate architecture decisions effectively to stakeholders and influence strategic technology direction. Key Skills And Competencies
Strong expertise in domestic and cross-border payment systems. Deep knowledge of card processing, merchant acquiring, wallets, and tokenization. Proficiency in API-first design, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP). Experience with event-driven systems (Kafka, MQ, etc.). Familiarity with Blockchain, DLT, and digital currency frameworks. Leadership and mentoring experience for distributed engineering teams. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Qualifications
18+ years of overall IT experience, with at least 12+ years in the payments domain. Hands‑on experience architecting large-scale payment platforms for banks, financial institutions, or payment processors. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Preferred: Certifications in Enterprise Architecture (TOGAF/Zachman) or Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
