The
Plant Controller
will serve as a strategic business partner to plant management and executive leadership. This role is responsible for managing all plant-level accounting and finance functions, including cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, inventory control, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have manufacturing experience, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting operations within the plant, including cost accounting, standard costing, and variance analysis.
Establish, maintain and update standard costs and bill of materials.
Analyze manufacturing costs and drive cost-saving initiatives in collaboration with operations.
Monitor inventory accuracy and analyze inventory variances.
Partner with operations, sales, and purchasing teams to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
Prepare monthly financial reports and present insights to plant management and executive leadership.
Develop and monitor annual plant budgets, forecasts, and financial performance metrics.
Maintain accurate and timely financial statements and ensure compliance with GAAP.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
Minimum of 8+ years of experience in all aspects of accounting, including 5+ years of progressive experience in plant or manufacturing accounting.
Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory control, and financial analysis.
Proficiency in ERP systems; experience with manufacturing-specific systems preferred.
