Overview

Plant Controller role at AccruePartners. On-site in Fort Mill, South Carolina. This is a leadership position within the plant finance team reporting to the Corporate Controller and partnering with Operations, Supply Chain, and Corporate Finance. Responsibilities

Lead full cycle cost accounting for the company’s largest site, ensuring accurate standards, inventory valuation, and margin integrity Own monthly close for the plant, deliver timely and accurate results, reconcile inventory, and produce actionable variance analysis Partner with Operations on standards, BOM and routing accuracy, overhead rates, absorption, and continuous improvement actions Build and maintain plant performance dashboards, KPIs, and daily management routines that drive cost, yield, and throughput Lead annual standard reset, budgeting, and rolling forecasts for COGS, conversion costs, and headcount Safeguard controls for the plant, cycle counts, physical inventories, and audit readiness, while improving processes end to end Provide business cases for capex and productivity projects, track benefits realization, and support S&OP decisions Manage standard costing, cost rolls, overhead rates, labor and machine routings, and production order variance analysis Reconcile inventory across raw, WIP, and finished goods, supervise cycle counts, lead physical counts, and root-cause discrepancies Close the month for the plant, prepare journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and a clean, well-supported audit trail Analyze and communicate PPV, usage, yield, scrap, labor efficiency, and absorption, with clear drivers and corrective actions Partner with Supply Chain on material cost trends, supplier changes, and inventory optimization targets Build and automate reporting, including daily flash, weekly operational scorecards, and monthly executive packs Coach a small plant accounting team or cross-functional contributors, set priorities, and elevate the finance operating rhythm Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls, recommend improvements, and standardize processes with Corporate Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CMA preferred 7 to 10+ years of progressive plant accounting experience in manufacturing or distribution; experience in fencing, building materials, or discrete manufacturing is a plus Deep command of full cycle cost accounting, standard costing, BOM and routing maintenance, and inventory control Proven month-end close leadership for a plant, with strong reconciliation discipline and audit readiness Advanced Excel skills; comfortable with large data sets; experience with a major ERP; Power BI or similar a plus Track record influencing operations leaders, converting analysis into actions that move cost, yield, and throughput Hands-on, detail-accurate, and urgency-driven; comfortable on the floor and in executive reviews Strong communication skills, able to simplify complexity for non-finance partners What They Offer
